Description
Stonechat a semi-detached inspected beach cottage is situated in a quiet valley, 25 yards from the beach at Polzeath a sandy bay on Cornwalls North Coast , ideal for surfing and other beach activities. Golf, walking, sailing, fishing bathing and near a wealth of good quality attractions and historic houses and gardens. The Cottage is set in a lane just off Polzeath beach, leading to the medieval Shilla Mill. Beyond the mill there are footpaths to Trebetherick, Trevanger and Roserrow Golf and Country Club which also has swimming pool, sauna and beauty salon. The gardens of the beach cottage are suitable for sunbathing as the cottage is south facing and there are outdoor chairs and table for dining in the garden as well as lounger. Gardens are full of flowers, hanging baskets, shrubs and trees, and the owners take an interest in promoting local wildlife therein.
On the opposite side of the valley are Shilla Mill Woods, ancient woodlands which are designated as being of outstanding local significance and which are referred to in several of Sir John Betjeman's poems.
Eden Project half hours drive. The area is known for an abundance of excellent public houses and eateries including Rick Steins famous Restaurant and Bistro in Padstow just half hours drive or one hours walk and water taxi. Jamie Olivers 15 restaurant is 15 miles away at Watergate Bay, and Port Isaac home of the TV SERI ES Doc

The owners are nearby and do their own cleaning so the cottage is of a very clean nature. Organic produce can be provided weekly from an organic farm just over the border in Devon, and wines, beers, ciders, fruitjuices, clotted cream, meat, vegetables, and dairy produce, bread, cereals and pasta can be ordered and delivered to the door on Tuesdays. Just order in advance. There is parking for 1 car in front of the cottage offstreet. We provide surfboards windbreaks buckets/spades some wetsuits free of charge. We have added an arbour for your amenity facing down to the beach suitable for watching the sunset and winter storms. Open Christmas/New Year. WIFI BROADBAND and freeview HDTV.

Polzeath is a small seaside resort in north Cornwall, England. It is not far from Daymer Bay, Rock, and the Camel Valley and is one of over 250 towns and villages in Cornwall in which Go2 has cottages or holidays lets available. Nearby cities include Truro, Plymouth and Exeter.
Polzeath has a very large sandy beach (over 460m in width) and is very popular with surfers.
The beach is watched over by lifeguards during the summer months and boasts good surfing conditions.
Among other highlights are the wildlife which can be seen around here including dolphins and a variety of birds such as puffins. There are also several shops, cafes, restaurants and various places to stay including a caravan site.
